Room for another just cannot wait

Since coming home Mama has seen just how very much we need more space for our own children – and also for those others who desperately need a home here.
In the baby room, toddlers ready to be in beds were still in cots and now that they are some rooms are sleeping more children than we would like.
It is  vital that we can free the upstairs the bedrooms and toilet/shower areas being used by school for family use.
Mama has decided to use money we have worked so hard to give us a bit of a contingency fund  to get started on our Room for Another project, having faith that we WILL raise the £18,000-£22,000 needed to pay for it.
She spoke to the older children, to see if they would be happy to move upstairs and all the over 11s eagerly agreed, specially when she told them that those sharing rooms could choose the material for curtains and bedcovers.
The upstairs rooms being used by the family will then be completely closed off so they will no longer be accessible by the primary school.
Downstairs there will be more room for our our younger children  plus space for new additions to the family..
A local builder has now started on work to convert a banda into a school library, computer room, office, staffroom and headteacher’s office.
And work has also started on converting former school admin office, close to existing plumbing on the ground floor, into toilets.
All is being done in the most cost effective way, as always, and prices kept to a minimum but without compromising on standards.
Local tradesmen know when they are dealing with Mama they are dealing with a razor-sharp business mind.
We had hoped to wait until we had raised the money for Room for Another  before starting the work, but we simply can’t.
It isn't fair on our children.
Our own 74 kids are growing so fast, and we are acutely aware of the many, many others living in neglect, poverty and fear who need us.
