It was concert time yesterday for Happy House helpers Elizabeth Gomm, Lynn Baya Thoya and Andrea Manders.
Elizabeth, a trustee and our UK coordinator, was invited to speak at the monthly community concert, staged by voluntary group Entertainment for All, at Cleveleys Workingmen's Club, Lancashire.
The concerts are a big hit with local people and visitors and moved to Cleveleys after the closure of the iconic entertainment venue, Layton Institute.
Yesterday, there was entertainment from a big band, 16 Men Swinging plus a bingo and raffle.
The raffle raised £117 for the Happy House and after Elizabeth gave an insight into the way Mama Sue and herHappy House are truly changing young lives and setting new standards for residential childcare and education, a collection raised more money bringing the total to £175.52p.
Thank you to Alan and Barbara Hebden who invited us to be a part of the day, to Judi Brown and Barbara for organising the raffle and to everyone who helped out or who gave so generously.
