Both his growth and development are delayed, and although a happy little chap he was really struggling to communicate.
But with dedicated efforts from our teachers, aunties and from volunteer Gussy Bunbury his communication and coordination skills have come on in leaps and bounds.
In the end of term exams, Ernest came eighth in his class - a real achievement.
He is talking more, although his pronunication is not always clear he's trying so hard.
His efforts were rewarded with the accolade of being the most improved pupil in the class at closing day on Friday.
We are all so proud of him, as are his Happy House "brothers and sisters."
