Huge congratulations to Andrew Dickinson who yesterday completed a cycling challenge the Etape du Tour.
The 130k route followed stage 20 of the Tour de France, taking in a series of lesser known climbs around Annecy, including a steep summit finish
And Andrew's motivation for taking on such a tough challenge was our Happy House family.
Andrew, who grew up on the Fylde coast and now works in London, and his wife Amy plan to spend a month volunteering at the Happy House in October, and his cycle marathon was to raise funds for our family.
Andrew, who is in Musyoka's sponsor family, says: " The Happy House provides a wonderful start in life for children without a stable family and facing terrible poverty.
The ethos of Happy House is to provide the children with love and care that every child deserves but so many do not get."
After finishing his epic ride Andrew said: "Great ride, really punishing final climb up the Semnoz. Happy to have made it in just under 7hours. Bit more work to do before I can ride with the Froome-Dog!"
Coincidentally, Chris Froome who yesterday retained the Tour de France Yellow Jersey just happened to be born in Kenya!
Well done, Andrew, on your fantastic ride, and on already achieving almost £800 of your £1,000 target. You are our champion!
