Just magic - our Happy House

 Spreading the Happy House magic is a privilege and joy for our voluntary coordinator Elizabeth Gomm.
And yesterday she was the guest speaker at the Inner Wheel District 19  International Service Rally at The Auction Mart , near Milnthorpe, Cumbria.
It was a gathering of more than 100 wonderful ladies from clubs in Lancashire and Cumbria who do so much in their own local communities as well as supporting causes nationally and internationally.
Elizabeth was there at the invitation of district international chairman, Mary Mason, a co-president of Garstang Inner Wheel . The Garstang Club joined our Lucky's sponsor family after Elizabeth spoke at their International Night a year ago.
Yesterday, was an opportunity to raise awareness across a much bigger district and Elizabeth told them about the amazing work accomplished by Mama Sue and her team.

She told them how the Happy House work was developing and evolving to meet the needs of children and families and of how our inspirational founder Sue Hayward is highly respected by those working in children's services and education for the successes the Happy House is acheiving in repatriating children into blood families when the time is right.
Elizabeth told the moving story of Lucky and his brothers Erick and Thomas and how they came to be in our family and showed a video of Mama and Uncle Billy with the three little boys.
Technical gremlins crept in to sabotage the video presenations so Elizabeth tried her best to draw pictures with words spoken from the heart.

Running the cake stall

.Mary presented Eizabeth with a donation of £240 - enough to support a scholarship student for a year, and a further donation will come from proceeds of the stalls, raffle and Happy House pick-a-stick raffle organised by Irene Pollitt (Thornton Cleveleys Inner Wheel) who sponsors Abu.
Elizabeth also received £80 in donations for  bags and bracelets.
It was a very special afternoon amongst generous and compassionate women. 
We hope they carried our Happy House family home in their hearts.
