Lobbying for a better deal

Mama Sue was delighted to host a meeting of the the Charitable Children's Institutions network yesterday.
Representatives from local children's homes meet regularly to work together to enhance and improve the services they provide to the children in their care.
High on yesterday's agenda was a plan to lobby the County Government  to call for more support  for CCIs and and to ensure that any funds in the devolved system  earmarked for children are used appropriately.
Uncle Billy said: "Mama has been trying hard to reach our local MP but to no avail. Today, we have made an official approach to the Governor for a meeting to discuss three  key components which are the most challenging for all the homes - meeting daily basic needs, education and proper health care for the children.
We hope for a positive response.''
