School blog begins with closing day report

Graduate Karembo
Today we are launching our Happy House School blog – which is both for our supporters around the world and for parents whose children and guardians are day pupils.
The school blogspot will be every Wednesday - so watch this space!
The school year has just ended and closing day was celebrated with a graduation ceremony for the children moving up from kindergarten to primary and with a sports day- with events for pupils, parents and staff!
Headteacher Mr Athuman writes:
“Each year here at Happy House children in KG3 graduate to the primary, standard one.
This year was our third graduation ceremony and was attended by parents, relatives, guardians and friends of our pupils.
Our children, happy and strong, took part in various sports activities -athletics for both KGs and the primary kids, tug of war for the big kids and ‘’walking in my mum’s shoes’’ for the KGs.

Grouped by PE t-shirt colours yellow, blue, green and red t shirts, the kids started the competition and  all loved and enjoyed the activities. Led by our sports teacher Mr Steven Otieno, the children were organized into groups each with a leader and a teacher.

Our parents enjoyed watching the children and taking part – we had athletics and tug of war when parents competed against our teachers who were led by head Mr Athumani. Papa was the referee and Mama led the cheering “pull…..pull....” , the kids were jumping up and down with excitement shouting “Happy House power! Superpower!
After the sports our graduation ceremony was held with each graduate, dressed in black and red gowns, receiving a certificate from Mama Sue.
They recited a lovely poem and everyone applauded.
Mama Sue then gave an encouraging and motivating speech, which touched the hearts of all.
She told of her future plan to have a secondary school to continue with the good and quality education offered at Happy House through to school leaving. All the parents really liked this vision Mama has for the school.

The head teacher also briefed the parents about intake for January telling them that few chances were remaining from baby class to standard seven. He stressed that school fees should be paid on the sixth of each month, and  the once-only primary book fund fees ksh 6000 should be paid by December 6 to gicve plenty of time to purchase books and to avoid the last-minute rush in the bookshops.
Madam Rose the head teacher of the KGS thanked the parents for ensuring that discipline of the kids was so pleasing. She informed the parents how the holiday clubs help the kids specially during this long vacation.
Parents representatives commented that children at Happy House learn in a happy and caring atmosphere.
And that is just what our school motto says -HAPPY EDUCATION BRIGHT FUTURE.
We now have a dedicated school page on our website with information for our charity supporters and parents of our day pupils. http://www.childrenofwatamu.net/school
