The event was organised by motivator Chris Williams (left) who had been moved to support the Happy House after attending Fiona Lockyer's 50th birthday party at the Ramada in the summer.
Fiona and her twin daughters are good friends of our family and are in the sponsor families of Baraka, James and Jonathan. Fiona asked for donations instead of birthday gifts and Elizabeth Gomm, representing Mama and Papa, spoke and showed a video.
Chris said: "It motivated me to organise this goal getting workshop to raise funds for Children of Watamu's Happy House"
"The aim of the event was for local businesspeople to have an opportunity not just to give back and support a wonderful cause but also to get great value for their donation by learning how to recognise and define their goals in life. All proceeds, after the venue and eventbrite expenses, are being donated to the Happy House and amounted to £900 - plus several of those who attended showed an interest in sponsoring."
The event was hosted by Fiona, who is Ramada general manager, and facilitated by Chris Williams and Mark Harris who donated their time and knowledge to help delegates create their best year ever in 2014 and raise £900 for the Happy House.
Elizabeth said: "We are absolutely delighted with the result. Fiona, Hebe and Imogen are fantastic supporters and have now brought us so many new friends. Many, many, thanks to Fiona, Chris and Mark for their tremendous efforts on our behalf and for raising such a lot of money. Every penny will go to make life ever better for the growing number of children in our family.
"We wish everyone who took part every success in 2014."
