Our Happy House Nursery school has broken up for the holidays but before they can play our children go back to class, as is Kenya custom, for two weeks tuition.
This is aimed at reinforcing and consolidating key areas of the terms work and to concentrate on helping with any areas an individual child may find difficult.
We now have two new teachers at school, they are replacing others who have moved on. Our new teachers are Madam Helen who has the baby class and Madam Tanui who has KG1 - we are sure they will love teaching our children who are all so eager to learn.
Secret Garden
We are still appealing for donations of bottles for a bottlebola and prizes for the raffle and auction at the Secret Garden Party taking place in Elswick, Lancashire, on Saturday, August 13.
It's going to be a fantastic ticket-only event with entertainment from noon onwards, and a great line up of acts and celebrity guests. There will also be craft stall, a holistic village set in woodland, a Zen area, children's entertainment, food bar and much throughout the day and well into the night. For full details visit the Facebook group page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=646203199&ref=ts#!/event.php?eid=130913140328026
Hosted by entertainer Scott Jay Marks the party will be raising funds for three charities - the Happy House, Meningitis Trust and Parkinson's Society Blackpool Holiday Project. There are a few tickets still available.
If you can offer any prizes or donations for the auction or bottlebola please email me elizabethgomm@childrenofwatamu.net
