Practical science

Taking the pupils out of the classroom for practical classes in science is an important part of teaching at the Happy House.
And practical science activities whether in the kitchen or the garden provide a chance to make simple scientific observations about things happening around them. Here they are in the garden learning about different types of soil, its composition and uses.  A second class, in the kitchen, was all about making simple salads, their nutritional value and the importance of meticulous hygiene - in washing hands, ingredients and keeping working areas spotless.
